New Mexico Police Station Captures Video of a Ghost?
A police officer was left with quite a shock while watching the security monitors at the Espanola Police Department in New Mexico on the night of September 20th, 2014. Officer Karl Romero says that one of the cameras outside the police station captured video of a mysterious, white mass slowly moving across the sally port. “At first I thought it was a fly or moth,” Romero said. “then I saw the legs and it was a human. But not a real human. No. A ghost." Romero reported what he saw to his supervisors. They say the only way out of the secured area is through an open gate, which also has an alarm that would’ve sounded off. However, the floating mass appears to walk right through the gate as if it were open. Detectives say there’s no logical explanation for this. They claim it’s not an issue with the lighting, nor is it a technical glitch.
"A lot of officers have seen certain things." Romero said. "Some officers have felt something breathing down their necks as they’re working in the briefing room." There’ve also been reports of hearing strange noises in the middle of the night, and even seeing unexplained images in the lobby area. As far as the Espanola police are aware of, the station isn’t built on an ancient burial ground. It’s only been there since 2006 and no inmates have died there. Yet, they say there have been some unsolved murders nearby. “I do believe in ghosts” said Romero. “Think that was a ghost. I do. I do believe it was something. It was hard to say but I do believe in ghosts.”
The more I watch this video, the more perplexing it becomes. In most cases, these types of videos can be debunked. The “ghost” is usually something close to, or on, the lens, like a bug. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case with this video. The ghostly mass in the video moves at the speed of something that’s actually close to the ground. If it were a bug on the lens, it would’ve moves across the screen at a faster rate than this mass. Bugs also tend to stop moving for a moment, and crawl all around the screen. Also, even the tiniest of bugs look fairly big when they’re on a camera lens, and this ‘ghost’ doesn’t look that big.
Personally, I can’t come up with an explanation for this video. I’ve seen many security camera ghost videos, and most (in my opinion) were bugs on the lens, but the ‘ghost’ in this video is different. It’s much smaller than the ones seen in other videos, and it looks like the mass has legs when it’s moving across the screen. It’s definitely something, and if it’s not a ghost, then I have no idea what it could be. The only downside to this video is the poor picture quality, and I only wish it were better. Maybe then we could determine what this mass truly is. Those are my thoughts, and I’m very interested to hear yours. Do you think the video shows a real ghost? Or is there a more conventional explanation for this mysterious, floating mass?
